Hi, Welcome to our Chat Blog! Considering the problems we had with spammers with our Guestbook feature we thought we would try a Blog. I'm truly sorry that we have to review comments but it is for the purpose of stopping spammers from posting useless links here for everything from online college degrees to Viagra and worse. Hopefully this will be a place to post useful information as well as a place for Golden lovers to chat! Again, welcome and please insure that your comments are safe for children to read and view!

      Hi Gwen, Dave and Elaine,

I know I have told you many times how awesome our "King OF Hearts" is but I just thought I would put it in writing. Here is my story..

Many years ago I became familiar with a dog from Sunshine Hill. It was a male named "Dusty". He was the most beautiful golden I had ever seen. He belonged to another breeder ..Jackie Pental.
It was at that moment I decided that I too, someday, would own a dog from Sunshine hill.

Time went by and I looked at many reputable kennels... Winterset, Eldorado, Gold Rush, and Charms to name a few. My heart kept comming back to Sunshine Hill. I am not quite sure exactly but there was something about you and your dogs that seemed to just speak to my soul.

The internet arrived at my houst in "96 and now I had access to all the wonderful things about Sunshine Hill that I loved... I could see all the puppies and parents... I could research all the pedigrees..and admire all the pictures. Best of all I could dream about the day I could have a Sunshine Hill pup of my own...and finally that day came.

He is absolutely just perfect. He has a sparkling personality... just full of himself... there is no living creature he doen't try to befriend. even when the "creature" is not so very friendly. He once retrieved a baby bird who had fallen out of it's nest... The mother bird tried to discouage him by swooping down and pecking his head... Every time she would do that he would crouch down to protect himself and the tiny treasure he so very gently held in his mouth. He finally was able to bring it over to me and laid it in my lap. He lookd up at me as if to say "Can I keep it?" He loves to play with all of my other dogs... old or young, friendly or grumpy.. he just brings out the best in all of them and in us too. Sometimes they seem to get a little chuckle out of his antics and they can't seem to resist to join in his merryment. He is a "Counter Surfer" and the others know that is not allowed but they seem to cheer him on when they see him do it.

Just before we picked him up we had lost one of our older goldens to osteosarcoma...Our new pup did a terrific job helping to heal our hearts from our loss.. then last August we lost another golden to kidney failure... she was 13 yrs old and was our first golden. Again our "King Of Hearts" came to our rescue.

There are no words to tell you how much we love this dog and how much he means to us. We are ever greatfull to you all and the time and effort you put into the beautiful dogs you breed. Please know that we believe our lives are richer and better because of the "golden" touch you bring to the breed. Thanks for all your caring and love you put into your kennel.

      Harriott and Coby Bethke

Hi Gwen, We were reminiscing through your web site tonight and were amazed to see how much Chance grew up to look like his dad. He is the spitting image of Wrangler. He will be four years old tomorrow. We are so glad we found him. Thanks for giving us our much loved Chance. Connie, John, Sammy and Matt B.

      Hi Gwen, Dave & Elaine

At the end of this month Mandy will be 5 years old!!! Wow!!! Unbelieveable!! How time has flown by. Also I will be retiring and will have more time to spend with my sweet, sweet baby girl and awesome little man!!! Reno is still the protective younger, big brother!!! He doesn't let other dogs take Mandy's ball from her when we are at the park!!!!! He thinks that he has to show her where the ball is even if she sees it land. What a good boy he is!!!!

Mandy is so focused on playing ball that she doesn't want to play with other dogs but sometimes they want to play with her and Reno will put hisself between Mandy and the dog that wants to play with her!!!!

I agree with Ms. Bethke, you breed the greatest Golden Retrievers ever!!!!

It never fails that when we are just walking in the neighborhood or at and event or anywhere for that matter, someone comments on the beauty of Mandy and Reno!!!! I'm proud to tell them where Mandy and Reno come from!!!

Thank you so much for the best two goldens in the world!!!!!

      Hi Gwen and Dave,
I tried to do this when you first told me about it but it didn't go. I'm just trying it again.

It has been almost 4 years since we came to pick up our puppy after Christmas. Noel Belle is a puppy of Pearl and Victor. She is just as beautiful as she is entertaining. She can have fun with any object she encounters. We moved from a house with a fenced in acre to a farm with a pond. We can't keep her out of it in the summer! She is beautiful and healthy and we thank God everyday for bringing her to our family.

It's been about fours years since we brought our beautiful, lovable, fun loving Raleigh home from your place. He's such a beautiful golden! But more than that he's a wonderful friend and loves to greet everyone whether they have 2 legs or 4. He plays hard and his constant companion is a tennis ball. When we have to go away overnight he has a wonderful vacation home with your sister and brother-in-law and their brood in West Grove. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful, loving home for him to stay in while we are away. We love our life with Raleigh! Thank you!
